Registration is open for the second annual Ms. Senior Marshall County pageant.
The annual event honors women 60 years of age and older who have reached “the age of elegance.” Contestants can live anywhere in Alabama, be married or single.
Application are currently being accepted for the 2014 event that will be held March 22 at The Whole Backstage Theatre in Guntersville. The deadline to register is Jan. 10.
There is a $40 entry fee to register, which can be refunded through participation in advance ticket sales.
Ms. Senior Marshall County is a non-profit organization designed to enrich the lives of senior ladies, while also allowing them to share their experiences, wisdom, interests and talents with others in the community.
The pageant is set up like the popular Miss America Pageant. It includes an interview process, an “inner beauty” portion where contestants share their “Philosophy of Life,” evening gown and talent. It works in accordance with National Senior America pageant guidelines located at www.senioramerica.org.
A panel of judges will select the winner. The pageant is a preliminary to the Ms. Senior America Pageant. Entry forms are available by request. To receive a registration packet, email email@example.com, or call pageant director Jeanene Kaiser at 256-486-3809.
