Mastin sworn in as new District Judge

John Michael “Jay” Mastin, 30, was sworn into his new position as Marshall County District Judge, on Friday in the Albertville Courthouse.

He was accompanied with his wife Natalie and daughters Hannah and Lydia.

He took this position to replace Judge Tim Riley, who became the county’s third circuit judge earlier this month.

Marshall County now has 5 judges between district court and circuit court.

Riley, who was elected into a newly created position in the expansion of the circuit, will accompany Judge Tim Jolley and Judge Mitch Floyd at the Guntersville Courthouse. There they will handle Circuit Civil, Circuit Criminal, District Civil, District Criminal, Small Claims and Traffic Violations.

At the Albertville Courthouse Judge Mastin and Judge Howard Hawk will handle all child support, domestic relations and juvenile court.
